I wandered lonely as a cloud...but that was okay. I needed thinking time and this is what I was pondering:
There are those who read books and there are those who don’t. A distinct advantage for a book reader is that we ‘hear’ another persons thoughts – even if it is fiction! It allows us to understand and reflect on another person’s viewpoint and I wondered whether the roots of empathy begin in childhood? Perhaps they begin when we pick a book up? Of course, empathy can be explained from parent to child but it was an interesting reflection. It’s good to listen. The world is full of chatter, there are too many voices wanting to be heard and solitude can bring us inner peace. The mountains do that for me and I promise to listen to you.
