The book cover for Rucksack Tales is now finished and I’m really pleased with it. I think the inspiration for this came from a late evening walk on Red Screes and there are hints of this in my story ‘Wannabe Sam’.
Being high up on the mountains is a real treat, especially on a clear day when the sun has just dipped below the horizon and stars begin to shine. There is something very magical about the whole experience. The temperature usually drops, sounds travel differently and there is conflict – the need to get down before dark and the urge to stay right where you are.
It’s very exciting having your own book published, but the added bonus is that seeing the cover gives me a little buzz and allows me to reminisce. I hope it allows you to dream too.
